“I reached out to GRZ in March of 2022 to design and fabricate a bespoke range hood for my Viking range and remote mounted exhaust fan. We live several hours away from each other but GRZ was more than accommodating by working off of my measurements and rough ideas.

They started with a 3d CAD model of several designs, using different materials and assembly processes, and outlined the pro’s and cons of each design regarding aesthetics, ease of install, and cost. Once we settled on the design they mailed me full scale paper template drawings and I assembled a rough model from cardboard to verify scale and fit with my components. This was a critical step that resulted in a much better finished product as we were able to confirm clearances and I was able to share with my wife how the hood would fit in our new space.

Once I confirmed the design and gave GRZ the go ahead, they wasted no time in producing the range hood, including laser cutting, breaking, assembly, and TIG welding. I specified that I would like to perform the final sheet metal finishing myself to attempt to match the grain to the range and GRZ shipped my completed hood to me. I installed the hood using the recommended hardware and the install went off without a hitch and fit PERFECTLY where we had intended.

I can’t think of another company that has provided personalized service and patience the way GRZ did. On top of that, the interactions I had illuminated some flaws in the way I imagined the project originally and ended up being far superior to what I personally could have designed. GRZ’s experience in design and engineering is invaluable as they see potential pitfalls that I wouldn’t have ever considered. If anyone has an idea that they want to prove out or produce, I think you’d be hard pressed to find anyone more committed to seeing your vision completed successfully and exceeding expectations than Mike and GRZ Consulting.”
